Clinical Extra Mural Studies (CEMS)
Southfields is committed to investing in and developing successful Veterinary Specialists of the future. We offer two week Clinical Extra Mural Study placements for final year students attending UK and Ireland veterinary schools.
On a CEMS placement you’ll have the opportunity to experience the caseload typical of a large, multi-disciplinary small animal Specialist referral centre.
You need to be a self-motivated individual who is keen to look for learning opportunities from our extensive and varied daily caseload. You will see new cases every day, and will experience Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery practised to the highest standards in one of the UK’s top Specialist referral centres.
You will learn the benefits of a multi-team approach to case investigation, treatment and management and your contributions to case discussion will be encouraged.
