Xavier graduated from Cardenal-Herrera University (Valencia, Spain) in January 2006. Following both general and cardiology specialist internships at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and in Scotland (University of Glasgow and University of Edinburgh), Xavier started his cardiology residency at the University of Liverpool, which he completed in March 2016.

Following his residency, he continued at the University of Liverpool as Lecturer in Cardiology for 16 months. Over the past two years Xavier has been working at the Royal Veterinary College, with direct involvement with the Mitral Valve Repair Program.

During his spare time, Xavier enjoys exercising (gym and swimming, mostly) and spending time outdoors with family and friends. However, when possible, he also enjoys those quiet times at home, reading a book or watching a good movie (or a bunch of episodes of the latest series), while having a nice glass of wine.

Marco graduated from the University of Bologna in 2016 and spent the next year at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna. Marco then started work in a first opinion practice in Italy, until he completed his registration of RCVS. He then moved to South Wales, where he worked in a first opinion practice. Marco then completed a 1 year rotating internship at Southfields.  He has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary cardiology, particularly feline cardiomyopathies and arrhythmology.

In his spare time, Marco enjoys going to the theatre, watching opera, running and trekking.

Kei graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2018. Post graduation, Kei spent some time in general and emergency practices, before starting the internship at Southfields. She has a keen interest in cardiology and emergency medicine.

In her spare time, Kei enjoys climbing and travelling.

In 2015 Lauren completed an Extended Diploma in Animal Management and recently become a Registered Veterinary Nurse with an FdSC in Veterinary Nursing from the Royal Veterinary College.

She joined Southfields in June 2018 and is particularly interested in surgical nursing and emergency and critical care.  As a self-confessed “cat person”,  Lauren enjoys nursing feline patients in particular.
