Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Fabio graduated from the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2000. After spending a few years in a private practice in Rome, Fabio moved to Bristol to complete an Internship in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at Bristol Veterinary School. He then went on to complete a three-year residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Fabio worked as a clinical anaesthetist for the Anaesthesia and Analgesia service at the Royal Veterinary College for over four years.

Fabio has a keen interest in pain management for cats and dogs and we are delighted he has joined the Southfields Veterinary Specialists team.

Manuela graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (Romania) in 2003. After spending several years in private practice in Bucharest and obtaining her masters degree, she worked towards my PhD diploma in the same university. Manuela continued as a lecturer in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest until 2015. Manuela then moved to the UK where she went on to complete a three-year residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket and continued as a clinician in anaesthesia at the same hospital.

Manuela enjoys all aspects of anaesthesia, but she has a particular interest for the critically ill patients, sepsis and opioid free anaesthesia.

Out of work Manuela enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.

Mireia qualified in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2017. After completing several externships either in Spain, Italy and UK, she undertook a rotating internship in Valencia Sur Veterinary Referrals (Valencia, Spain). It was there where she developed a keen interest in anaesthesia, analgesia and critical care. After completing the internship, Mireia moved to UK to start working as a general practitioner in Blue Cross.

In April 2019 Mireia joined our anaesthesia and analgesia team, becoming an intern in this specific discipline.

In her spare time Mireia likes to be busy and active. She loves running, travelling and spending as much time as she can with her dog Nick.

Carlos graduated from the Catholic University of Valencia (Spain) in 2018. After several externships either in Spain and UK, working in Spain as general practitioner and completing his master in Mechanical Ventilation and Respiratory Support, he moved to UK to start working in first opinion.
In May 2020 Carlos joined our anaesthesia and analgesia team, becoming an intern in this specific discipline.

In his spare time Carlos likes to be busy and active. He loves running, going to Spain to visit his family and spending as much time as he can with his friends.

Prior to joining Southfields in April 2018, Emma worked in a first opinion 24 hour hospital. She has a strong interest in emergency and critical care nursing and hopes to pursue further qualifications in this area in the future.

After adopting a stray cat with heart disease, Emma has discovered an interest in cardiology.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys caring for her own pets, travelling as much as she can and keeping fit.
